The group’s side has just announced the E12 flagship mastership, and Marvell’s arrival will be Ximavi.
Marvell introduced the 4-channel 88SS1084 master and the 8-channel 88SS1100 master during the Taipei Computer Show, positioning the mainstream and high-end respectively. It is Marvell's sixth-generation NVMe master and eighth-generation PCIe master.
Both new masters support the latest NVMe 1.3 standard, take the PCIe 3.0 x4 channel, integrated DDR controller, up to 4GB LPDDR4-2400.
Flash memory can be used with up to 96 layers of 3D TLC/QLC, integrating fourth generation LDPC error correction. Speed performance, Continuous reading up to 3.6GB/s, 4K random read and write up to 700K IOPS.
Interestingly, Marvell said that while the 88SS1084/1100 is a consumer-grade product, the hardware/firmware architecture is shared with the enterprise-class 88S1088/88S1098, and vendors who purchase two types of products at the same time can reduce development costs.
At present, the 88SS1084/1100 has been released for sale.
