In the first quarter, global wearable device shipments grew at a much slower rate than the 18% recorded in the same period last year. With consumers preferring smarter devices, Apple, Fitbit and many brands of fashion, higher-priced smart wearable devices increased by 28.4%.
Watches and wristbands accounted for 95% of global shipments of wearable devices in the first quarter. At the same time, garments with integrated sensors increased by 58.6% year-on-year.
