Apple secretly set up hardware engineering department | or develop chips for Mac

Sina Technology News Beijing time on the evening of May 31, foreign media reports, Apple's Washington County, Oregon, set up a new hardware engineering department, and from Intel and other companies to recruit more than 20 employees.

Reported that Apple's recruitment seems to have started since last November. The team may be committed to independent research and development of ARM architecture chip, which replaces the Intel processor used by Mac computers.

According to the recruitment information display, the candidate needs to have 'design verification expertise' and is mainly responsible for comparing the finished product with the original design specifications to ensure that the product meets the requirements.

It is unclear how many employees Apple will recruit for the department and what products they will develop. According to Bloomberg News previously reported that Apple may release its first Mac computer based on the independently designed ARM chip in 2020.
