The Ministry of Commerce promptly responded to the White House statement: There is a consensus reached between China and the United States.

The White House issued a statement on the 29th. The Spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China quickly responded and stated that no matter what measures the United States has adopted, China has confidence, ability, and experience to safeguard the interests of the Chinese people and national core interests.

Not long ago, China and the United States reached a consensus in Washington on the issue of not playing a trade war, and issued a joint statement on the economic and trade consultations. Against this background, the White House issued a strategic statement that was unexpected. This obviously contradicts the consensus of both parties. However, it seems that everything is expected again—this is not the first time that the Trump administration has changed and repeated. A few days ago Trump’s vacillating and dramatic changes to the “Special Fair” was an illustration. His consistent performance in the Sino-U.S. trade friction is its consistent practice.

The change in the Trump administration coincided with the forthcoming visit by US Secretary of Commerce Ross Rossi to China for economic and trade consultations. The US side’s refusal to turn back on, whether to increase its bargaining power, or to win support from domestic voters, or other considerations, is in use. To overly undermine the credibility of the country will allow the United States to become increasingly morally and passively in the international morality.

We expect the United States not to act impulsively. However, if the United States does not act impulsively, we are not afraid. The Chinese attitude is as usual: We do not want to fight, but we are not afraid of fighting. We want to fight. I will escort. We will listen to the US statement. In observing its actions, the United States will introduce any measures. China will at all costs, and resolutely safeguard the interests of the country and the people.

Although consultations are not smooth sailing, they are not tantamount to repeated torment. They have to show sincerity for practical communication. China will continue to conduct pragmatic consultations with the delegation of the United States. We hope that the United States can also act in accordance with the spirit of the joint statement. This is correct. The peoples of the two countries have the best responsibility.

Related reports: Trump suddenly changed his face. The Chinese voice was bright!

According to a statement just released by the White House, the United States will still impose a 25% tariff on 50 billion Chinese goods. The specific list of goods will be announced on June 15. The tariff will be implemented shortly thereafter.

It should be noted that after the last round of consultations between Washington and China, U.S. Treasury Secretary Mukuchin explicitly stated to the media that the U.S.-China economic and trade consultations have made significant progress. The two countries reached an agreement on the framework issue and agreed to suspend the trade war.

However, the U.S. Treasury Secretary was still listening to his ears. The White House immediately took a small step. Feeling hard for so many days, he returned to the negotiation process.
