According to Korea’s ET News, Huawei is working with BOE to develop a collapsible smartphone aimed at blocking Samsung’s entry into this new smartphone market.
Reported that BOE began production of flexible products at 6-generation plants in 2017 OLED Panel, and become China's first panel manufacturer of this kind, the company will provide 8 inch folding OLED flexible panel for Huawei's foldable smartphone.
Huawei plans to release its first collapsible smartphone in November 2018 to defeat all competitors. This time also happens to be the production time of Samsung's first foldable mobile phone.
According to reports, BOE may obtain OLED panel orders from Huawei because it has gradually developed related technologies. It has been reported that it has received orders to develop four foldable panels from two smart phone suppliers.
