On May 24, 2018, it was learned from the on-site conference on the promotion and application of new energy vehicles and safety supervision in the transportation industry in Guangdong Province that Guangdong will accelerate the promotion and application of new energy vehicles. By 2020, the province’s new energy buses will occupy all buses. The proportion exceeds 75%, of which pure electric buses account for over 65% of the total; all cities in the Pearl River Delta will be electrified by bus before 2020, and new or added parade taxis will use new energy vehicles.
According to reports, as of the end of April 2018, Guangdong Province had 61,000 new energy vehicles in operation, including 36,000 new energy city buses. Shenzhen has already achieved full-scale electrification of public transport, and Guangzhou and Zhuhai plan to fully implement electric electrification in 2018. The electromobility rate of public transport in Shanwei City exceeds 95%, and the electrification rate of public transport in Meizhou City, Yangjiang City and Jieyang City exceeds 65%.
Guangdong Province has 14,000 new energy taxis. New energy taxis in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Shaoguan, Huizhou and Chaozhou have achieved large-scale applications.
In terms of promoting new energy vehicle support, according to the plan, Guangdong will build 108.5 charging facilities on the Pearl River Delta Intercity Highway and the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao, Shenhai, Changshen and other key highways. By 2020, the Pearl River Delta Region will be formed. The core, main highway is the backbone of the intercity charging network system.
At the same time, we will establish and improve the capital subsidy system, study and formulate the subsidy policy for the operation of new energy logistics delivery vehicles, explore the preferential policies for high-speed tolls for new energy vehicles, and the priority of urban road traffic.
