LANXESS is currently strengthening its polyurethane prepolymer production capacity at its Feliz port facility in Brazil and plans to stop production at its Claro plant 200 kilometers away.
The new plant is scheduled to begin production in the first half of 2019. The company stated that it will invest 'millions of euros' at the Feliz port facility.
Markus Eckert, Head of the LANXESS Polyurethane Systems Business Unit, said: 'The new investment will enable us to provide sustainable local customers with specific technical services and fast and reliable product supply.'
On top of this, he also said: 'South America is the cornerstone of our global network. We are committed to serving the Brazilian and South American markets.'
This new factory will combine production and application development departments as well as technical service centers.
