According to the latest data from the state-owned memory research institute Chibang Consulting, In the first quarter of 2018, stimulating by the continuous price increase, the global DRAM memory particle market revenue increased by 5.4% from the previous month, reaching a record high of 23.08 billion US dollars.
Among them, the price of memory particles increased by as much as 15%, mainly because the memory price was relatively low, and the demand for video card mining continued to stay high, while the prices of other types of memory chips also increased by 3-6%.
Jibang Consulting expects In the second quarter, the price of PC DRAM memory chips continued to rise. Among them, the average contract price in April had reached US$34, which was 3% higher than the average value in the first quarter.
However, due to the higher profitability of the server's memory and the greater room for making money, DRAM memory manufacturers have shifted their remaining capacity in the past, which has directly caused the PC's memory supply to become more tense.
In addition, Although the first-tier DRAM makers (Samsung/SK Hynix/Micron) are all building new factories, they will all take some time, and they will not be effective until the end of this year.
In the current global DRAM market, Samsung Electronics leads the way with 44.9%, followed by SK Hynix with 27.9%, and Micron with 22.6%.
