Han-Eco® B: Full compliance with industry standards Han® B requirements

HARTING Han-Eco® is another big step forward: The connector range with high-performance plastic housing is now fully compliant with the industry-standard Han® B. All contact connectors and modules that fit standard metal housings are now available. Fully adaptable to the corresponding plastic housing. Plastic and metal models are plug compatible.

The new function introduced by HARTING is the possibility of snapping pre-assembled connectors back into the bulkhead mounting housing on the wall of the switchgear cabinet inside the control cabinet. So far, it has to be Through the panel cutouts. Assemble on the side of the switchgear and screw the connectors from the outside into the bulkhead mounting housing. These require on-site operation by electrical technicians. The rearside mounting now allows the connection part to be controlled separately from the control cabinet. assembly.

This ensures the backward compatibility of Han-Eco® B in an industrial environment. Users can select plastics and/or metals according to the corresponding cost and quality requirements. Existing production test facilities can still be used for both housing types.

The use of plastics improves corrosion resistance. The high-performance plastics used meet UL94 V0 fire protection requirements and have a 50% reduction in shell weight compared to metal.

In addition to using standard monolithic parts, Han-Modular® series modular connectors can also be used by deploying hinged frames. Pre-assembled metal hinged frames can be securely screwed into new housings and housings.

'We have already achieved the goal of the Han-Eco® B and Han® B standard design compatibility,' said product manager Ingo Siebering. 'Users benefit from the flexibility to choose the component materials and the machine or shop equipment connections. '
