Sun Jinliang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, pointed out that high-performance fiber is an important basic raw material for the defense industry. Wang Yuping, vice president of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, analyzed that in 2017, China’s total capacity of high-performance fibers was approximately 120,000 tons, ranking first in the world. However, the capacity for independent innovation was insufficient. Wang Yuping emphasized that high-performance fiber is a common core technology in the fields of low carbonization, light weight, and corrosion resistance in the future. It is the key to national manufacturing and low-carbon economy core competitiveness. China must accelerate the development of high-performance carbon fiber and heat and creep resistance. , Anti-corrosion fiber, etc., make high-end products no longer unattainable.

Cao Xuejun, deputy director of the Consumer Products Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that the state attaches great importance to the development of new material industries including high-performance fibers, and the “Made in China 2025” lists it among the ten key areas that need to be broken through, and has established leadership in the development of the national new material industry.
