CSPC's new ethylene project is put into production

On May 2nd, CNOOC and Royal Dutch Shell announced that the second 1.2 million-ton/year ethylene cracker and its derivatives plant in the second phase of the petrochemical plant in Huizhou, Guangdong, was officially put into operation.

It is understood that after the 1.2 million-ton/year ethylene project is put into production, the production capacity of China Shipping Shell will be doubled, forming a deep-integration advantage with the China National Offshore Oil Refinery (Huizhou Petrochemical) separated by a wall. The project also includes a set of domestic The largest styrene and propylene oxide (SMPO) production facility.

According to Shell, the project adopted a number of industry-leading technologies at home and abroad, including Shell proprietary OMEGA, SMPO and polyether polyol technologies to produce ethylene oxide, ethylene glycol, propylene oxide and high-quality polyether polyols. Alcohols, and advanced polyolefins, phenol and oxo alcohol production technologies. This is the first domestic use of the industry-leading Shell OMEGA and polyol technology.
