May 2, 2018 – Clariant, the world's leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals, announced today that it will win the contract for Jinneng Technology Co., Ltd., and will cooperate with CB&I to design the world's largest propane dehydrogenation unit. The factory is located in Shandong Province, China. In Qingdao City, the annual production of propylene will reach 900,000 tons.

The project is based on CB&I's advanced CATOFIN propane dehydrogenation technology, combined with Clariant's customized CATOFIN catalyst and heat generating material (HGM). Previously, the two sides have cooperated in numerous projects and have designed and built multiple sets in China and other parts of the world. Propane dehydrogenation unit.

The proven and reliable CATOFIN technology, which uses light paraffin as raw material to produce olefins such as propylene and isobutylene, is reliable and highly efficient. Based on Clariant's first-rate catalyst, CATOFIN technology can optimize reactor operating pressure and temperature to achieve maximum raw materials. The conversion will increase production and reduce operating costs. Combining this technology with Clariant's patented metal oxide heat generating material (HGM) will further increase catalyst selectivity and yield while achieving energy savings and emissions reductions.

Jinneng Technology Co., Ltd. is an important manufacturer of fine chemical products and coal chemical products. Taking sustainability as the core content of its business strategy, Jinneng Technology integrates energy efficiency, environmental protection and innovative recycling practices into all aspects of production.

Qin Qingping, founder and CEO of Jinneng Technology, said: 'Using advanced CATOFIN technology to build the world's largest single propane dehydrogenation unit and production base allows us to achieve more outstanding economic value and the company's long-term development goals.'

Stefan Heuser, senior vice president and general manager of Clariant's Catalyst Business Unit, also welcomed the cooperation. He said, 'Clariant is honored to participate in the construction of this historic project of Jinneng Technology. We are also pursuing sustainability. Sex, and see it as an integral part of the innovation chain. Clariant's CATOFIN custom catalysts and heating materials are the perfect example to prove that we constantly update and improve products and services to meet customer needs.
