This competition not only allows students to compete for awards, but also gains a true personal experience of designing and building with GaN power transistors. This year's challenge is to use GaN system transistors to design a low-cost, high-efficiency, high-power-density bidirectional DC converter. The output power is 400W, the minimum efficiency is 95%, and the power density is greater than 20W/in3. CPSS will announce finalists on August 25, 2018, and will be held in Shenzhen, China on November 4-7, 2018. Winners are announced in the final and an awards ceremony is held.
