According to foreign media reports, TSMC is currently using the 16nm process to produce the latest S2 processor for Xiaomi, and also said that Xiaomi's S2 processor has already begun mass production.
Currently Foxconn, Inventec and TSMC and other supply chain manufacturers are actively concerned about Xiaomi's orders. Industry insiders said Xiaomi's shipment volume in 2018 may reach 100 million units.
In February last year, Xiaomi 5C adopted the 澎湃S1 eight-core chip independently developed by Xiaomi Songtao. However, it did not cause much repercussions. Therefore, the next-generation 澎湃S2 processor has become a target for users and rice flour.
S1
澎湃S2 is based on TSMC's 16nm process technology and uses an eight-core design. However, compared with the previous generation, it changed the design architecture of the 4-core A73+4-core A53. Among them, the 4-core A73 clock frequency is about 2.2GHz, and the 4-core A53 frequency is About 1.8GHz, the Mali G71MP8 is used on the GPU to support UFS2.1 and LPDDR4 memory, but unfortunately still does not support the CDMA network, and the overall performance rating looks flat with the Unicorn 960.
It is unclear which mobile phone will use the S2 processor, but at present, Xiaomi 7 has already decided to use the Snapdragon 845 processor, so it is very likely that it will be the future release of Xiaomi 6C and other products.
