Siltronic, a German silicon wafer factory, expects revenue of 1.3 billion euros in 2018, an increase of 10% year-on-year

German silicon wafer maker Siltronic AG announced its first quarter earnings report for 2018 on April 25: Revenue increased 26.9% (quarterly decrease of 0.2%) to 327.4 million euros; gross margin rose from 23.0% a year ago to 38.1% EBITDA (pre-tax, pre-interest, depreciation share of advance earnings) increased by 131% year-on-year to EUR 122.3 million; EBITDA reported 37.4%, which is better than 20.5% a year ago and 36.8% in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Siltronic’s capital expenditure for the first quarter was 33.4 million euros, much lower than 61.4 million euros in the fourth quarter of 2017, but higher than the 19.3 million euros for the first quarter of 2017.

The prepayments received by Siltronic in the first quarter of 2018 were approximately 41 million Euros. It is expected that more prepayments will be received by the end of the year.
