Apple Samsung patent compensation case review next month | Cook will not testify in court

According to a report from the technology website CNET, Apple, Samsung’s patent compensation case will be reviewed in May, but Apple CEO Tim Cook and chief design officer Jonathan Ive will not testify in court .

Apple and Samsung submitted their respective witness lists to the North District Court of California, USA, on Monday, including industry experts and executives of the two companies, but did not include Cook and Ivey. Although he was listed as a witness, but may only appear in Samsung's testimony.

The Apple executives participating in the trial included Greg Joswiak, Vice President of Apple Product Marketing and Richard Howarth, Senior Director of the Apple Design Team. Among them, Joshuaia Grams will discuss Apple's marketing strategy and explain the importance of design patents for Apple devices. Howals will testify about Apple's design process, patents involved, and other designs the company has considered.

In addition, Apple's early designer Susan Kare was also listed as a witness. She will testify on icon design and user interface design.

Apple and Samsung will be on May 14 against the public, this review will determine Samsung's compensation for the infringement of Samsung Apple's design patent. This case has lasted for 5 years, this review is the third trial of the case. 2012 In August of this year, the case was tried for the first time. In November 2013, the case was reviewed again for the amount of compensation.

Apple declined to comment. Samsung has not commented yet.
