Baochang Electric successfully developed the world's largest capacity oil-impregnated current limiting reactor

On April 23, the first 220kV oil-immersed three-phase current-limiting air-cooled air-core reactor with the largest capacity in the world passed all tests in one pass at Baoding Tianwei Baobian Electric Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as 'PPG'). It shows that the current-limiting reactor has the advantages of strong ability to resist short-circuit current, low noise, high reliability and small footprint, and its performance is better than the contract requirements.

It is reported that on May 15, 2017, Baochang Electric won the bid for two 220kV oil-immersed three-phase current-limiting air-cooled air-core reactors in Shandong Liaocheng Xinyuan Group. The current-limiting reactor will be used in Liaocheng Xinyuan Group Co., Ltd. 3* 700MW high efficiency ultra-supercritical air cooling unit project.

With the ever-increasing transmission capacity, the short-circuit current of the power grid will also increase. The resulting safety problems will bring enormous risks. At the same time, the operating mode of the system will be increasingly limited, so effective measures must be taken. Limiting the short-circuit current. To this end, Baosteel developed a large-scale three-phase oil-immersed hollow current-limiting reactor for high-voltage lines.

The successful development of this product demonstrated Baochang Electric's courage in pioneering and technological innovation and its R&D strength in new products, further consolidating its leading position in the manufacturing of large capacity current-limiting reactors in China and even in the world.
