U.S. FCC finalizes opening of the first wave of 5G network band operating licenses in mid-November

According to media mashdigi reports, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission finalized the bid for the 28 GHz band operating license for the 5G network in the United States on November 14 this year.

According to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, the bid will release a total of 1.55GHz of spectrum resources, of which the 28GHz band will be licensed in two sets of 425MHz spectrum blocks, and the bidding will start in the 24GHz band after the 28GHz band is completed. Commercialization of 5G networks is expected to open in 2019.

Currently, Huawei, Qualcomm, Intel, MediaTek, Samsung and other chip makers are all building communication chip products for 5G networking applications. According to previous reports from IT homes, 5G began commercial use in the second half of 2019, and was officially adopted in 2020.

Domestically, Huawei, Hisense, Vivo and other brands are expected to launch their first 5G mobile phones in 2019. At present, the three major operators in China have been approved by relevant national authorities. They will pilot 5G networks in Beijing and other cities.
