ST showcases the latest intelligent industrial solutions at TECHNO-FRONTIER 2018

China, April 20, 2018 - STMicroelectronics (ST, NYSE: STM), the world's leading semiconductor supplier across multiple electronic applications. TECHNO-FRONTIER, Japan, 2018 (2018 April 18-20, Japan's Makuhari Makuhari International Exhibition Center displayed a variety of intelligent industrial solutions, including predictive maintenance and fault detection sensor technology, precision drive system motor control technology, and support for various Equipment and energy efficiency standard power management technology.

Preventing production equipment failures and timely maintenance is essential for improving production efficiency and reducing maintenance costs. It is an important advantage for the transition to an intelligent industry. At the STMicroelectronics booth, engineers demonstrated a STMicroelectronics 6 installed in a motor. Axis Motion Sensors and Environmental Sensors to monitor and analyze motor vibration, temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure in 'Industry 4.0' technology. While estimating optimal maintenance time, this technology also allows operators to detect spontaneous failures and perform rapid Maintenance. Another demonstration activity focused on the ultrasonic detection of high-pressure pipeline gas leaks based on MEMS microphones and STM32 microcontrollers (MCUs). In this demonstration, MEMS microphones are used to detect high-frequency sound waves generated by gas leaks.

ST also demonstrated how to use various motor precision control technologies to promote the commercialization of drones, robots, and other devices. At the STMicroelectronics booth, engineers demonstrated how to use a miniature highly integrated motor driver to control the Brush DC motors. This miniature motor driver incorporates an Arm®Cortex®-M0 microcontroller, ideally suited for small motor control systems such as micro-drones. In addition, ST also demonstrated a very practical new motor control software development tool. Kit, this kit is compatible with STM32Cube software development platform, visitors will see how to use this tool to quickly and flexibly develop motor control functions.

In addition to motor control, advanced power management and energy-efficient charging systems are also important for the smart industry. STMicroelectronics unveiled a low-power, energy-efficiency-compliant, high-voltage converter evaluation board and a digital power supply evaluation board; , High-voltage converter evaluation board equipped with 800V power MOSFET and zero power mode; Digital power supply evaluation board integrates ST's latest power MOSFETs, diodes and STM32 microcontrollers. ST also will demonstrate live output power up to 15W. Supports Qi/Airfuel standard wireless charging chipsets and USB Power Delivery/Type-C controllers that can quickly charge (up to 100W) devices such as laptops, smartphones, and laptops.

ST also demonstrated smart lock models using Bluetooth® low energy and NFC technology, a time-of-flight sensor model capable of accurate and fast ranging, and a high-sensitivity UHFRAIN® RFID tag IC. In addition, in order to support prototyping of IoT devices, STMicroelectronics presents the STM32 Nucleo board with STM32 microcontrollers and the X-NUCLEO expansion board with motion sensor, environmental sensor, RF IC, ToF sensor, motor driver and NFC tag.
