At a press conference in San Francisco, Microsoft announced Azure Sphere, a solution for IoT devices.

It is understood that Azure Sphere consists of three components: Sphere MCU, Azure Sphere IoT OS, and Azure Sphere Security Service that provides secure cloud services.

Among them, Sphere MCU will be offered to the manufacturer for free, MediaTek will launch the first product MT3620 later this year. Microsoft claims that its chip has the versatility and processing capability of the ARM Cortex A series chip design and lower overhead.

In fact, from the cooperation between Microsoft and MediaTek, we can find that Microsoft is building a brand-new ecosystem composed of multiple chip suppliers, ODMs, and OEMs.
