According to Platts Energy Consulting Singapore on April 17th, a person familiar with the state-owned Indian Oil Company said on Tuesday that the company expects to start a new 700,000-ton/year polypropylene (PP) at Baladib on the east coast of India in June this year. The device will begin commercial production before the end of this year.
IOC has a 650,000-ton/year PP plant in Baradiib in Haryana state.
Market participants expect India's PP imports to decline after the new plant goes into production.
