Australia’s clean energy company Neoen and Siemens Gamesa will cooperate to provide wind power and energy storage facilities that provide electricity to a smart farm in Victoria, Western Australia.
Siemens Gemma Inc. has said that it has been commissioned by Neoen to build a hybrid energy storage facility in Storr, Australia – a 194 MW wind farm and a 20 MW/34 MWh lithium-ion battery energy storage system The company stated that the project has a total of 132 wind turbines and will be started immediately. It is expected to be completed and put into use in August 2019.
The Victorian Government signed a 15-year support agreement with Australian Neoen Corporation in January this year to deliver the BulganaGreenPowerHub integrated energy project. The Victorian government said at the time that the project would include a 204MW wind farm and 20MB. Watt's battery energy storage system; in addition, the state has signed a ten-year agreement with Nectar Farm, which has been using LED light technology to grow tomatoes.
Nectar Farm will store electricity in batteries during the annual wind exhaustion period. The energy provided directly from the wind farm is less expensive than that provided by the grid, which helps the farm to operate better. It is estimated that 97% of Nectar's farm power Demand comes from 15% of the total generation of wind farms and energy storage facilities, and the rest of the electricity will be delivered to the local grid. In the longer windless period, only 3% of Nectar's demand does not depend on wind power.

It is understood that Siemens Gemma installed more than 6.6 GW in the world, and currently there are still 1.2 GW in progress. In addition to Australia, Siemens Gamesa's business also extends to China, South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan And New Zealand.
