Wuxi’s integrated circuit design companies have hundreds of large and small companies. There are not many families that are bigger and stronger. The vast majority are not big or weak. Why are they not strong or not? The main reasons are all human problems. Leg problems. High-tech companies need to walk on two legs in order to develop healthily. One is research and innovation, one is market sales, one leg is missing or one leg is smashed, and companies cannot develop swiftly. It is a health problem today. If the enterprise is lame, it will naturally be impossible to do a big job.

There are two main types of 'leg companies':

First, many returnees look down on local companies, feel that they were high-educated masters of prestigious universities that year, and now their technology is so cattle, not willing to Local bosses do their work; Second is the temptation of various current 'leadership' policies.

The 'leadership talent' policy is mainly aimed at overseas qualifications. For senior talents who have worked in large corporations around the world, there is a criterion that they have to serve as corporate legal persons and major shareholders, and they must obtain 30% or more of the shares. This is 'forcing'. Returnees will be bosses themselves! When the boss also has various names and interests, naturally, he will not choose to work for a local company. If he is not the CEO and he is the technical director or CTO, he cannot comment on the 'leader' and he can't enjoy it. Related policies. So local companies in Wuxi want to find an overseas technology big cow to join, it is difficult!

The second category is the returnees attracted by policies such as the 530. Most of them are created by chip design seniors who return home to make good products, but most of the company's sales have not been able to come. This kind of company needs local seniors. Market or sales do core team partners.

As returnees entrepreneurs, some of them lack the domestic market sales of friends, and they can't invite suitable friends to join in to be responsible for market sales and partnership ventures. Some people think that if they make the most advanced chips, they must sell them. Paying too much attention to sales, and even serving as vice president of sales. Of course, there are still some people who are simply immersed in R&D. They don’t pay attention or do not understand how to recruit a sales vice president. They dragged down one leg.

As another example, six years ago, an American doctor, who was also a chip company in chip design in the United States 20 and was back in business for the next year, came to me through a friend and asked me to find him a chip design engineer. He has been in business for more than three years. Several chips have already been made. I asked him how the sales were. He said that he had no sales yet. I asked him if there were sales managers. He said that there was a sales manager who was responsible. I asked him what the background was, he said yes. If the development of a domestic small and medium-sized company cannot be quickly converted into sales and market share, then it is hard to get room for development as an industry with high input and expected high output. Not only is its development limited, but it is also difficult for the government to support it positively. A so-called high-end product that can't make sales and occupy market share has no practical commercial value.

There are two main types of 'symptomatic pharmaceuticals':

The policy of selling high-level talents, for example, the company recruits a vice president of the market, the government also provides preferential policies for the corresponding talents, so as to attract outstanding market sellers to join the entrepreneurial enterprises to be the second and third oldest.

I talked with some of the entrepreneurial CEOs introduced by the 530 policy. They complained that most of them were unable to recruit talents at the manager level.
