At CHINAPLAS 2018, BASF will join hands with Taipei-based fashion designer Shen Enchou to create a concept fashion show that showcases more than 20 new material applications from the chemical world.
Shen Enhao, Founder and Brand Director of Fashion Crest 7Crash, worked with BASF to create three sets of fashion apparel for three series of themes: 2018 Sports Series, 2028 Future Series and 2028 Space Series, including casual jackets, evening wear, functional wear and protective clothing. .
Casual Jacket: Polypropylene non-woven fabrics and yarns using Elastollan TPU.
In this conceptual fashion show, BASF will launch a series of material applications for fashion and design, including yarns using Elastollan thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a multifunctional material that can be extruded into different materials. The shape provides designers with freedom of design. With Haptex's innovative polyurethane (PU) solution, BASF achieved a breakthrough in the fashion field. This synthetic leather has properties such as excellent touch, firm stitching and high tear strength. BASF will also launch Fibers made from Elastollan TPU, whose low temperature setting allows fabrics to dry quickly, saves energy during production and daily use.
Protective clothing: Artificial synthetic leather with Haptex P solution has excellent touch, strong stitching and high tear strength.
The models will also be wearing a number of uniquely designed garments made of polypropylene nonwovens and polyethylene yarns made from the latest generation of light stabilizer Tinuvin XT 55. Tinuvin XT 55 is commonly used in the manufacture of artificial turf. The designer Shen Enyi will try his best to create BASF's material solutions.
Other highlights of this concept show include accessories for themes: Car center console frame made of Ultramid Deep Gloss, Chrome-plated door handle, Fire-fighting made of Ultrason E (PES) Helmet and fire hose made of Elastollan TPU.
