Chuan Xiaomi Considers Acquiring GoPro | The latter's share price soars 8.8%

Sina Technology News Beijing time morning news on April 13, there are reports that Chinese electronics manufacturer Xiaomi is considering whether to acquire sports camera manufacturer GoPro, GoPro's share price soared by nearly 8.8%.

The company’s chief executive, Nick Woodman, once said that he welcomed the acquisition. The company also hired an investment bank JP Morgan to advise on potential sales issues earlier this year. It was worth more than 100 times. Billion-dollar GoPro has now lost its market value to US$761 million. Analysts said that the acquirer can use GoPro's brand and profit from equipment sales.

"The Information" previously reported that according to HP's bid for the same difficult-to-produce electronics manufacturer Palm in 2010, GoPro might sell for about $1 billion. The report quoted sources as saying that although Xiaomi had acquired Intention, but does not mean that the company is willing to pay high prices.

GoPro's stock price subsequently soared to $5.30 per share, the biggest increase since February 14th. As of 1:24 pm, the company's stock traded at $5.16 per share.
