On April 9, AMD's official Youtube account released a 17-minute video. Among them, chief marketing officer John Taylor (center) invited four product executives to get together and stand on the same day as Zen’s launch. Talk about your own opinion.
From left to right, Christina Iron is responsible for global competition, Mike Clark, Senior Design Engineer and Zen Chief Architect, CVP Suzanne Plummer and James Prior, Product Manager for RTG.
In the 12th minute of the video, Mike revealed that He and his team have started Zen 5's R&D work.
According to AMD's official roadmap, Zen only updated to Zen 3, and in 10 days we will see the Zen+ architecture, but it is a modified version of the 12nm Zen generation, not the 7nm Zen 2.
According to VCZ, Zen 4 will not be launched due to consideration of Chinese culture. Of course, this is only a guess. More crucially, if you count Zen+, Zen 5 is actually the fifth generation of Zen architecture.
From the time schedule, Zen 3 is scheduled for 2020. In that case, Zen 5 may be fastest in 2021, maybe 5nm?
