April 10, 2018 - STMicroelectronics' STLQ020 Low-Dropout Regulator alleviates trade-offs between quiescent current, output power, dynamic response and package size, giving designers greater freedom of design .
The STLQ020 combines small size, high performance and energy efficiency. It is ideal for battery-powered consumer electronics such as smartphones, tablets, smart watches, audio or media devices, and wearable devices. In addition, STLQ020 helps to extend intelligence Endpoint devices such as electric meters and wireless sensors, wearable medical equipment such as monitoring equipment, and battery life of industrial applications such as industrial automation or sensor networks.
STLQ020's quiescent current (Iq) is only 300nA, maximum output current is 200mA, voltage regulation, power supply rejection ratio (PSRR), transient response and other parameters are excellent. The package is compact 0.8mm x 0.8mm flip-chip 4.
The unparalleled combination of features of the STLQ020 is derived from its dedicated low-power design and adaptive bias circuit, which guarantees fast response and stable output with high PSRR. In addition, the voltage is reduced to 160mV (typ.) at maximum load. The device runtime can be extended during battery discharge. In addition, the STLQ020 provides a logic-controlled shutdown mode with only 5nA of power consumption. In low duty cycle applications (eg, remote sensors), the button cell replacement interval can be extended.
The input voltage range of STLQ020 is 2.0V-5.5V, and the power supply can directly use the appropriate battery voltage (VBAT) or logic voltage rail. The output voltage can be set between 0.8V and 4.5V, divided into fixed and adjustable output voltage. One style. Fixed output voltage product per shift of a voltage change 50mV.
STLQ020 will be put into production immediately, using 2mm x 2mm DFN6, 0.8mm x 0.8mm flip chip 4, 2.1mm x 2.0mm SOT323-5L three packages.
The high-performance quad LDO regulator evaluation board (STEVAL-LDO001V1) is equipped with a STLQ020 and 3 other low dropout (LDO) regulators, priced at $9.68.
