The Apple employees who participated in the presentation included John Ternus, Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, Tom Boger, Senior Director of Mac Hardware Market, Jud Coplan, Director of App Product Marketing, and Xander Soren, Director of Music App Product Marketing.
Panzarino was told that the new Mac Pro will not come before 2019 because the product is still in development:
“We want to be more transparent and able to maintain more open communication with professional user communities, so we want to make them aware that Mac Pro is a 2019 product, not this year.”
Apple wants to make users aware that Mac Pro will not appear in 2018, so those who want to plan to purchase professional equipment such as iMac Pro will not hesitate to wait for the second half of the Mac Pro.
The details of the Mac Pro product itself were not disclosed, but Apple still plans to launch a modular device, as promised when it was disclosed to professional users for the first time last year. Apple reiterated that it would be a "completely rethinking" Mac Pro, a modular system. Apple also promised to bring a professional monitor at the same time.
Panzarino also stated that we will not hear any news about Mac Pro during WWDC 2018. He expects that Apple will be tight-lipped this year.
