Our nails are often exposed to the outside world and are prone to lesions. Two of these lesions are easily confused: onychomycosis and psoriasis.
From the appearance point of view, onychomycosis nails tend to discolor, dull, thicker and damaged; and psoriasis in the nail damage may also appear pin-shaped depression.
From the etiological point of view, onychomycosis is mainly caused by fungi (skin dermatophytes, yeast and non-dermatophyte mold) caused by the deck or underarm tissue infection; Psoriasis A damage is a clinical manifestation of psoriasis Most patients may have other clinical manifestations of psoriasis in other sites. They are genetic and environmental interactions of multiple genetic diseases, and are currently believed to be related to infection, neuropsychiatry, immunity, and endocrinology.
From the point of view of infectiousness, onychomycosis is contagious. Contact with the items touched by the patient may result in infection. Therefore, attention should be paid to personal hygiene to avoid infection. Psoriasis A damage is not contagious.
Both will worsen over time, but onychomycosis has a slow course of disease and generally has no symptoms. If not treated, it can prolong life. Nail thickening or destruction can affect fine finger movements; thickening of the nails can cause pain, and even secondary A Gulitis, swelling and heat pain, etc.. Diabetes or immunocompromised persons may be difficult to cure after the occurrence of onychomycosis infection. Due to fungal invasion of the site and degree of different types of clinical manifestations are not all the same, but all Debris type is the ultimate result of all types of onychomycosis. Therefore, early detection and early treatment are very important, and delaying treatment will cause permanent damage to the nail bed.
These two diseases can occur alone or at the same time, making the diagnosis complicated. After a nail has a lesion, it is difficult to diagnose it and you must seek medical advice.
