South Korea's Plastic Garbage Recycling Has Returned to Normal | Previously Confused by China's Ban

According to the Yonhap News Agency, the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea said on Monday that after negotiation with the garbage disposal industry, all 48 companies in Seoul City, Incheon City and Gyeonggi Province will recycle waste plastic bottles, foamed lunch boxes and other plastic garbage.

After China stopped importing foreign garbage this year, most of the wastes in the two cities and municipalities in the Korean capital circle were cleared. The classification company declared that it would no longer be able to recycle PET plastic bottles, white polystyrene lunch boxes, plus the Ministry of the Environment. And local government announcements misled the public to place plastic waste into special bags for garbage metering charges, causing garbage accumulation and conflicts between community properties and residents.

In order to avoid causing a crisis of waste flooding, the Ministry of Environment fully explained to the industry the subsidy policy for recyclable plastic waste, which led to the renewal of the refuse disposal agreement with various communities. The Ministry of Environment will examine and rectify the illegal rejection of refuse.

The Ministry of Environment has also tried to boost the recycling market, which has been hampered by falling exports and falling prices. It has also advocated civilized and environmentally friendly waste classification to reduce recycling costs.
