During the visit to the UAE by Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the Joint Energy Company of the Ministry of Energy and the Samluk-Kasina National Fund signed a cooperation agreement with the Austrian Borealis Chemical Company for the polyethylene production project in the State of Hatau. After production, 1.25 million tons of polyethylene will be produced each year. The feasibility study of the project will be completed within this year. It is reported that the total investment of the project is 6.5 billion U.S. dollars. Kazakhstan United Chemical Company and Borealis will establish a joint company with 50% each. .
