On March 26th, Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government held the Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Conference at the Octagonal Tower of Zhudao Hotel in Guangzhou. The meeting commended the advanced units and individuals who won the 2017 Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award. The Guangzhou Automobile Research Institute’s R&D team 'Gas engine high-efficiency combustion technology and product development' project, won the 2017 Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award.
Provincial Party Secretary Li Xi presided over the meeting, Governor Ma Xingrui, Provincial People’s Congress Chairman Li Yumei, and Provincial Chairman of the CPPCC Wang Rong attended the meeting. The “Gas Engine High-Efficiency Combustion Technology and Product Development” project built the GAC Group’s own branded engine architecture. Based on the core technology of engine research and development, it achieved four major innovations:
Original gasoline engine combustion process control system (GCCS technology), obtained national patent;
Using a mixed-flow cooling system with double-effect thermostat to precisely control the heat dissipation of the water jacket and improve combustion;
By optimizing the design of the inlet and the pressure chamber, the uniformity of the intake of the supercharged engine is improved;
Original one-dimensional, three-dimensional model and combustion noise model combined combustion system development method.

At present, the project has produced numerous research and development achievements, and has achieved considerable economic and social benefits. For example, an engine developed independently based on the combustion process control technology for gasoline engines for motor vehicles has been successfully installed in Chuanqi GA8, GS4, GS8, GM8, etc. On the models, it has contributed to the 'two 2 million' production and sales of GAC Group in 2017. The project also solved the key issues in the development of engine combustion, saving a huge amount of research and development costs on a single engine R&D project.

In addition, Guangzhou Automobile GCCS technology solves the core technical difficulties in the combustion process and combustion system development of gasoline engines, and runs alongside international advanced engines. It not only enhances GAC's independent R&D capabilities and independent innovation, but also fills engine R&D production in Guangdong Province and even in southern China. Blank, fundamentally achieved the independent research and development of gasoline engine, breaking the monopoly of foreign engine design.
