According to reports, Nokia's initial layoff plan was to cut 425 jobs, but it has since been adjusted.
Of the 353 jobs that were reduced this time, 283 were from the company's network business, 70% of which came from the technology department, including Nokia's patent licensing business and digital health business.
After the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent in 2016, Nokia's performance in the global network equipment market did not meet expectations. The company hopes to save 1.5 billion US dollars in costs worldwide.
Nokia currently employs 6,300 people in Finland and employs 102,800 people worldwide.
