TE Connectivity Introduces 48V Bus Bar Connector and Cable Assemblies

TE Connectivity has announced the launch of a new 48V busbar connector and cable assembly to meet the next-generation 48V application design requirements including Open Computing Project (OCP) Open Frame Standard V2.0.

These bus bar connectors and cable assemblies allow the use of a single vertical bus bar in the rack, simplifying system design and reducing costs. The 48V solution uses less energy than the 12V solution, and the same connectors and cable assemblies can be used to include the power supply With data center applications such as battery backup units (BBUs) and pigeon loft racks, users only need to purchase a small number of product types to implement multiple functional applications, simplifying inventory management.

Phil Gilchrist, chief technology officer of TE's data and terminal equipment division, said: 'The 48V power distribution solution reduces the power consumption of OCP-designed products, which in turn improves product efficiency. We believe that the 48V power supply design is the next-generation data center design. In the direction of development, TE is very pleased to support 48V power supply design with new busbar connectors and cable assemblies.
