Recently, at the Milan International Air-Conditioning & Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Exhibition in Milan, China, the air conditioner manufacturer Midea adopted the AER series full DC inverter air-conditioner with environmentally friendly low-carbon refrigerant R290 to obtain the German government's blue sky certification for environmental protection. This certification is called The world's most recognized environmental protection product certification'.
The Blue Sky Environmental Protection Certification initiated by the German government was issued in 1978. It is a voluntary application and not a compulsory product certification. Since its establishment, there have been approximately 120 different types of products that have been awarded the Blue Sky Environmental Certification, including The refrigerant does not contain halides, which is a split-type air conditioner that uses natural refrigerants. The blue sky enabled the environmental certification body to open its certification doors to the split-type air-conditioning manufacturers from August 2016.
'We want to support the R290 split-type air-conditioning market,' said Dr. Daniel de Graaf, Federal Environment Agency official, Germany. However, he also stressed that 'the German blue sky makes the environmental protection certification standards very strict, and the energy efficiency of air conditioners applying for this certification is seasonal. The ratio (SEER value) must reach 7. '
Although the blue sky makes certification agencies expect that there will not be too many manufacturers able to meet this stringent application condition, the agency believes that this certification has released a clear market signal. 'This environmental certification comes to the German market and the global market. It is a signal that there is a huge difference between using R410A (or R32) and R290. 'Dr. Daniel de Graaf believes that this will encourage manufacturers to more aggressively bring R290 air conditioners to market.
Midea is one of the earliest companies in China to carry out R290 refrigerant application research and product development on air-conditioning products. As early as in 2009, it began researching compressors for R290 refrigerant, and in 2011 it launched the first under the support of the Montreal Multilateral Fund. R290 air conditioning production line transformation. In 2014, Midea's first portable R290 air conditioner exported to Europe and obtained CE certification; in 2015, Midea delivered more than 5,000 R290 air conditioners to Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Australia and other countries. Today, Midea is gaining in overseas markets. More and more R290 air conditioning orders.
'What we really hope is that Chinese manufacturers can supply much larger R290 air conditioners than the current scale in the European and Asian markets,' said Dr. Daniel de Graaf.
Midea expressed that Midea is already in research and development, product planning, marketing to the entire industrial chain after sales, and layout of R290 air-conditioning products. With the launch of this product line, it has completely opened the door for export to the EU market and will be used for local consumption. Provide efficient, safe and environmentally friendly home appliances.
