Grouplink Electronics recently launched a new master PS5008-E8T, which incorporates the BlackTech's 'HMB'. The PS5008-E8T is a low-cost NVMe mastering solution. It is built on a 40nm process and uses a PCI-E 3.0 x2 channel. It still has nearly 3 times the bandwidth advantage of SATA 3, and it has a sustained read and write speed of 1.6GB. /s, 1GB/s, 4K random read/write performance up to 230,000 IOPS, 180,000 IOPS, and lower cost than PCI-E 3.0 x4 solution.
Although the 40nm process is not the best, it is very advanced for SSD control. The E8T has a smaller area than the little finger and consumes less power.
