The auto parts manufacturer Minghua USA announced the selection of the US Troy Michigan as its North American headquarters.
As a subsidiary of China Jiangnan Mould Technology Co., Ltd., the company plans to spend US$8.4 million to establish a sales and R&D center to support its North American operations.
Minghua USA opened a bumper injection molding plant in Gree, South Carolina, last year.
The U.S. state-owned companies expect to receive a $500,000 grant for performance under the Michigan State Business Development Plan. Troy's site will eventually win the competition with the sites in Ohio and South Carolina. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation expects the project will be created in Troy. 50 job opportunities.
William Trapani, general manager of the Wal-Mart USA Temporary Office in Troy, declined to disclose details of the Trojan project.
Minghua USA built a factory in Gree last year. The South Carolina Department of Commerce estimates that the company’s fifth year of operation will employ about 150 employees in the area. The Commercial Daily estimates that the first phase of the plant construction will cost 30 million yuan. In the second phase, the company invested 20 million U.S. dollars. A report estimates that Greier's annual sales will reach about 50 million U.S. dollars, and the initial employment figure will be about 115 people.
A report said that the United States and the BMW new 3 series and new 7 series vehicles signed injection mold guide plate assembly and seat parts contract. Greer is the seat of the BMW American assembly plant. Minghua's parent company Supply parts to BMW factories in other parts of the world.
Prior to the launch of Greer, Minghua USA issued job advertisements to promote its injection molding and painting operations business while seeking quality engineers to take charge of the BMW and Magna projects.
In the Greer project announcement announced by the South Carolina Government in 2016, Robert Cao, chairman and general manager of Jiangnan Mould Technology Co., Ltd., said: 'This investment in South Carolina and Spartanburg County will further demonstrate Jiangnan's Efforts to expand its global leadership position in the plastic mold industry. '
Jiangnan Molding stated that it is one of the largest plastic parts suppliers in the Chinese automotive industry. Its sales for the first half of 2015 were approximately RMB 1.6 billion (US$ 246 million).
