Jacques provides polyurethane insulation panels for LNG carriers

Jacques Technology will provide reinforced glass fiber polyurethane insulation boards for China Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding LNG (liquefied natural gas) carriers.

Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group is the contract shipbuilder of the Russian Yamer project, the world's largest producer of LNG carriers for the Arctic Circle.

The value of the contract is 39 million yuan (about 6 million US dollars). Jacques will provide materials for the cargo tank containment system No 96-L-03+ of the LNG carrier. A company spokesperson said that the new generation system can reduce evaporation.

Jacques is China's first manufacturer of reinforced polyurethane insulation board for marine use, 'said the spokesperson. 'This contract is a No 96-L-03+ system that was first used on LNG carriers by Chinese-made materials. '.

Jacques acquired the production certificate from the French GTT company in January. GTT is the leading company in the LNG enclosure technology field. This makes Jacques China the first manufacturer qualified to supply this product on a global scale.

It is reported that Korean Hankuk Carbon and Dongsung FINETEC occupy 90% of the current global market share of LNG shipping marine polyurethane insulation panels.
