According to the Swiss news agency quoted AFP on February 21, the American home appliance manufacturer Whirlpool announced on the same day that it recalled 310,000 hot water bottles all over the world. The reason is that this hot water kettle handle is flawed and may pose a danger to users.
Whirlpool said in a statement that it will recall a 1.7-litre Kitchen Aid kettle manufactured and sold in Europe, the Middle East and Africa between January 2013 and June 2017.
According to reports, some consumers complained that the kettle handle would come off and the user was at risk of being burned with hot water. Whirlpool therefore decided to take a recall action.
Whirlpool explained that, 'We have taken initiatives to ensure the safety of consumers. Please return the goods to Whirlpool and redeem them for free.'
The report said that in 2017, it took 71 life-threatening fires in London's Glenfield Towers. The fire point was a defective Whirlpool refrigerator.
