STMicroelectronics and Sigfox Collaborate to Connect Billions of Devices

China, March 12, 2018 – STMicroelectronics (ST, NYSE: STM) and the World's Leading IoT Service Provider, a Global Leading Semiconductor Supplier Across Multi-Electrical Applications Sigfox announced a technology cooperation agreement to support and increase the market's demand for various applications for connected devices, including supply chain management, building and equipment maintenance, water and gas metering, security, transportation, agriculture, mining and home automation. Semiconductor development tools will integrate Sigfox networking software to enable developers to bring LPWAN products and solutions to market faster.

To accelerate customers' adoption of Sigfox's industry-standard Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technology to securely connect IoT devices to the cloud and IoT, the STMicroelectronics microcontroller software package will provide Sigfox networking software, including compatible STM32 tools This cooperation agreement ensures that the development tools are compatible with the industry-leading STM32 series of general-purpose microcontrollers, as well as ST's unique technology portfolio for Sigfox technology, including S2-LP ultra-low-power high-performance sub-GHz radio frequency Transceiver, highly secure Sigfox compatible STSAFE-A1SX security unit, as well as various motion sensors, environmental sensors, audio sensors, power devices and power management devices.
