Cypress and e.solutions launch a new car wireless connectivity solution

Microblogging news, Cypress Semiconductor announced today that e.solutions GmbH, a joint venture between Audi and Elektrobit, has applied Cypress's wireless connectivity solutions to new automotive communications equipment, including the Audi A8 2018 model. Drivers and passengers can use Cypress's 802.11ac and Bluetooth® combo solutions while connecting eight devices to Wi-Fi® hotspots for Alpine communications devices. As a communications device software stack and design and development provider, E.solutions selects Cypress solutions for maximum performance. This solution is the industry's first product to implement real-time synchronous dual-band (RSDB) technology by integrating two complete Wi-Fi subsystems into a single chip In the meantime, achieve the full throughput of two independent data streams.

Sudhir Gopalswamy, senior vice president of Cypress Microcontrollers and Connectivity, said: 'The dynamic in-vehicle infotainment user experience designed by e.solutions demonstrates how our wireless combo solution can pave the way for connected cars. The design also proves that As car manufacturers increasingly use electronic devices to enhance the user experience, we will gain more opportunities in the new semi-conductor field. In addition to the automotive market, this also shows how Cypress can work with customers to solve Their design issues, and their innovative ideas to the market.

e.Solutions communications equipment uses Cypress's CYW89359 combo solution. The solution includes an advanced coexistence engine that can simultaneously support dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz 802.11ac Wi-Fi and dual-mode Bluetooth/Bluetooth low-power ( BLE) Provides the best performance for a superior multimedia experience. Its RSDB architecture enables applications such as Apple CarPlay and Wi-Fi hotspots to run simultaneously without performance degradation due to repeated switching between bands.

Currently, Cypress has partnered with some of the world's leading car manufacturers, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), 3D graphics displays, wireless networking, full-featured touchscreens and advanced body electronics systems, etc. The product portfolio includes Traveo ™ and PSoC® MCU family, power management IC (PMIC) products, CapSense® capacitive sensing solutions, TrueTouch® touch screens, NOR flash memory, F-RAM ™ and SRAM memory storage, USB, Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth connectivity solutions.
