Last Monday, a police officer in New Orleans, U.S.A., was accused of stealing a pair of AirPods wireless headphones from the Apple Store in La Lakefront Mall in Metairie, LA, before resigning.
According to store staff, the officer named Ayona McGilberry came to the Apple store around 13:40 local time and was repairing her iPhone at an Apple store.
The officer inquired about Airpods, arguably saying she would probably buy a pair on her way out, but on the way out she took a pair of AirPods without paying to leave, and she was still in police uniform.
Afterwards, the store clerk alerted that when the deputy of the sheriff's office arrived at the store, the police officer McGilberry had left, but the police quickly followed her through the iPhone she had repaired.
