ARM Releases Mali G52 and G31 GPU Designs | Popularize AI for More Devices

ARM recently announced two new GPU versions of the Mali G52 and G31, both of which will bring AI performance and visual performance improvements to more low-end models.

ARM emphasized that G52 has been improved in AI, machine learning performance has increased by 3.6 times, performance has increased by 30%, and power consumption has dropped by 15%. The G31 is based on the Mali-G51 MP2, which improves the performance of a single Mali-G31. The G51 MP2 has a 20% increase.

However, these two GPUs will have to wait at least 1-2 years before they are actually deployed in the product. The Mali-G31 is aimed at the low-end market, and will bring Vulkan and OpenGL ES 3.2 support to more devices. Mali G52 has a higher positioning, such as a high-end mobile phone or tablet, which is equivalent to the Xiaolong 600 series.

At the same time, ARM also updated the Mali V52 and D51 with the chip, Mali V52 can now decode 4K@60fps streaming video, compared with the previous V61 and DP650 chip has almost double the performance improvement.
