New Organic Solar Cell: Turn off energetic electrons

In the single-molecule organic solar cell developed in this study, the azobenzene optical switch molecule is inserted into a typical donor-acceptor system to form a donor-optical switch-acceptor system. The first-principles calculations show that , A system of research that inhibits charge recombination processes in organic solar cells through clever design and enables efficient charge separation and automatic switching of molecular conductivity and that other optical switch molecules and donor-acceptor systems can also be used In this compound system.

This design uses small organic molecules as a material to solve the problem that organic solar cells are prone to charge recombination and conductivity can not be switched, and is the world's first self-adaptive switching organic solar cell design.
