The production technology is based on 12-inch 14-nm Mainly products for the next generation of mobile communications and intelligent terminals.
After the project is fully put into production, SMIC Shanghai Plant is expected to form a production capacity of 92,000 pieces / month 12 inches and a production capacity of 110,000 pieces / month 8 inches. The technology covers 0.35 micron -14 nm and will become the most advanced and most profitable advanced technology in China R & D and manufacturing capacity chip base.
Project progress
The project officially started piling construction in October 2016. Currently, the project is proceeding according to plan. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018. In 2019, equipment will be started and the production of 14nm will be started.
The project not only enables the integrated circuit manufacturing process to reach the world advanced level, but also enhances the level of Shanghai's IC manufacturing industry and further consolidates Shanghai's leading position in the field of integrated circuits.
