A major breakthrough! Chinese Academy of Sciences Ali cloud released 11-bit cloud superconducting quantum processor

February 23, Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Quantum Information and Quantum Technology Innovation Council meeting and 2018 annual work conference held in Hefei.

CAS Institute of Quantum Information and Quantum Technology Innovation and Alibaba Cloud announced that it will release 11-bit cloud access superconducting quantum computing services in the direction of superconducting quantum computation.

It is understood that, This is the second system in the world after IBM to provide more than 10-bit quantum computing cloud services to the public. The service is on-line with the Quantum Computing Cloud platform to deliver a complete backend experience of classic computing simulation environments and real quantum processors in the cloud.

Through the quantum computing cloud platform, users can upload and test various quantum computing circuit codes and download the related operating results.

The platform will attract more people to run on the quantum algorithm, complete the preliminary test, Not only can you be used to understand important features such as processor performance and technology bottlenecks, but also help develop the next generation of processors and gain experience for optimizing applications.

Aliyun chief quantum technology scientist Shi Yao Yun said, This launch means that Aliyun Quantum teams can more easily experiment with real-world processors to help them understand the hardware and lead the development of quantum tools and application software while gaining experience and continuous improvement from the client experience of quantum cloud services Platform construction.
It is understood that the Quantum Computing Cloud Platform was jointly developed by the CAS Institute of Quantum Information and Quantum Technology Innovation (Shanghai) and Aliyun, and was officially released at the Hangzhou CloudWatch Conference in 2017. Users can log in to the Aliyun Cloud website for use.

In addition to client-side services, Aliyun also offers classic simulations of quantum computing and is involved in designing solutions that measure processor performance. Classic simulation can accurately calculate the experimental results on the quantum processor, compared with the real processor results to measure the latter's performance, verify the correctness and so on.

Quantum computing has epoch-making significance and quantum computing research has been used around the world as a key entry point for the 'ultimate computing power of mankind.' In 2017 alone, the competition for quantum computing power has become increasingly day-to-day between Google and major IBM technology companies.

As early as July 2015, Aliyun co-founded the first quantum computing laboratory in Asia with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and conducted a prospective study in the field of quantum information science. Aliyun subsequently brought the world's first case of cloud-based quantum cryptography.

In May 2017, the world's first quantum computer was jointly developed by the Chinese University of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences - Alibaba Quantum Computing Laboratory, and Zhejiang University. In the second half of 2017, Shi Youyun, the world's leading quantum scientist, Winner Mario Szeged has joined Ali cloud quantum laboratory.
