Ten days before the opening of the MWC 2018 Mobile World Congress, Qualcomm has announced ahead of time a heavyweight new product that will provide powerful connectivity support for subsequent release of high-end handsets. The new product is the new Snapdragon X24 Base band, it can be said that it is a key to open the door 5G.
It is reported that Snapdragon X24 baseband can achieve the fastest transmission speeds up to 2Gbps, but also the first released, based on advanced 7-nanometer FinFET process to create the chip.It is the eighth generation of LTE Qualcomm LTE multimode modem and the third generation Gigabit LTE solution with the state-of-the-art cellular technology features of any 4G LTE modem commercially available to date, laying the foundation for LTE for the future 5G new air interface multimode terminals and networks. Qualcomm will also unite at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Ericsson, Telstra and NETGEAR for live demonstrations using the Snapdragon X24 LTE modem.
Qualcomm revealed that Xiaolong X24 baseband will be commercially available later this year, will be applied to the smart phone in 2019, is expected to be equipped in Snapdragon 845 after 7nm SoC.
