Artificial intelligence will be infinitely more numerous than humans

According to CNBC analysis, a futurologist told CNBC on Tuesday that artificial intelligence will be many times smarter than humans and that people may need to be integrated with computers in order to survive.

At the World Government Summit in Dubai, a talk by futurist Ian Pearson echoes the view of Tesla CEO Musk.

"AI can go farther than humans and is now smarter than humans," said Pearson. "So we have to make sure we have to keep up."

"The way we protect ourselves is to combine artificial intelligence with our minds and let's have the same IQ as a computer, just like Musk ... trying to develop a superhuman computer until it connects directly to the human mind."

At the 2017 World Government Summit, Musk, who warned of the future capabilities of artificial intelligence, said humans and the machine must be combined as more powerful technology arrives.

Musk said in February 2017: "Over time, I think we may see a closer integration of biological wisdom and digital wisdom."
