Foxconn development robot OEM | Group will create a photoelectric 10,000 people cut

According to the Nikkei Asia Review, Foxconn's panel division, Innolux, plans to cut more than 10,000 jobs this year as part of its aggressive efforts to increase manufacturing automation applications.

At a news conference Tuesday, Duan Xingjian, Chairman of Quantum Optoelectronics, said: 'By the end of 2017, the total number of our workforce will be reduced to below 50,000. According to the statistics at the end of 2017, there will be about 60 million.

It is reported that a group of Optoelectronics is mainly iPhone assembly company Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn Technology Group), a liquid crystal display manufacturer Duan Xing Jian Foxconn, Sharp and a group of photoelectric technology consultant.

Duan Xingjian said up to 75% of the production will be fully automated by the end of 2018, while most of Innolux's plants are in Taiwan. Recently, Foxconn's chairman Terry Gou said the company would spend 342 million U.S. dollars to reform its manufacturing process with artificial intelligence.
