Singer Jack White and a group of musicians encouraged fans to drop their cellphone while attending the concert.
White took a step for his upcoming concert by encouraging fans to put their cellphone in a Yondr bag during the concert to make sure they are not using the phone.
When the phone is placed in a Yondr bag, the Yondr bag is locked and the fans can not use it in a particular area. In this case, the concert will not be disturbed.
If users need to use their cell phone because of an emergency, they have to leave the restricted area, unlock and remove the phone from their Yondr bag, which is more and more happening in classroom and entertainment settings.
Dave Chappelle, a comedian, advocated the Yondr bag as a must-have on the show, and Chappelle told CBS that he had rules that would prohibit the use of mobiles in his program to ensure the quality of the show.
Musicish Childish Gambino also forcibly uses Yondr bags on his shows. Yondr's website quotes him as saying: 'I want to give people a pure experience without phone interference.'
In addition to performing, using Yondr bags in the classroom can keep the student focused.
